AFO Dynamic

The AFO Dynamic provides a strong, lightweight solution for patients with varying degrees of drop foot secondary to a variety of neurological conditions. Össur has taken the carbon fiber technology from its Flex-Foot® product and incorporated it into the new AFO Dynamic to provide increased support over traditional ankle foot orthoses. The energy storing properties of carbon fiber make it an ideal material for this dynamic ankle foot orthosis because it provides real energy return. Best for those people leading busy lives, the AFO Dynamic will ensure a more efficient walk for the user.

• Carbon fiber design provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio and dynamic motion
• The tapered carbon heel stores energy and manages forces at heel strike
• Full-length toe lever provides full support while foot is loaded, as well as reduced shock to the contralateral limb
• Creates medial-lateral stability at mid-stance
• Reduces energy consumption by reducing hip hike
• Medial strut makes it less visible in shoe
• Open anterior tibia shell provides superior anatomical fit, and reduces heat and perspiration

INDICATIONS FOR USE

Drop foot secondary to:
• Cerebro Vascular Accident (CVA)
• Other neurological conditions
• Multiple Sclerosis
• Mild knee instability
• Charcot Marie Tooth disease (HMSN)

Contraindications:
• Severe ankle – foot deformities
• Fluctuating edema
• Severe spasticity
